Introducing the latest addition to Michael Stevenson's backroom team – Coach, Gav Griffith.
AFC North Kilworth Women are delighted to welcome Gav Griffith to the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Known for his passion for developing attacking players, Gav joins the coaching team with a clear focus on helping our forwards improve their movement, confidence and finishing in front of goal. His enthusiasm, standards and positive approach made him an ideal fit for the exciting journey ahead.
We caught up with Gav to learn more about the man behind the coach.
Welcome to AFC North Kilworth! How does it feel to be joining the club?
It's nice to be here and to be involved with the players. I'm really looking forward to getting started.
What made AFC North Kilworth the right club for you, and why did you decide to join the project?
After meeting Stevo and the players, it just felt like the right environment that I'd like to coach in. There was a real togetherness and ambition that stood out straight away.
Tell our supporters a little about yourself and your coaching journey so far.
I'm an attacking coach who specialises in working with strikers and forward players. My sessions focus heavily on first touch, movement, timing of runs and finishing, helping players improve in the areas that make the difference in front of goal.
You'll be working under Michael Stevenson. What excites you most about working alongside him and the coaching team?
I'm excited about what we can achieve together in the future. There is a real opportunity to build something special here, and I'm looking forward to playing my part alongside the coaching staff.
What values and qualities do you hope to bring to the players and the club?
I hope I can show the players the standards and passion that I have for both playing and coaching football. I want players to enjoy learning while always striving to improve.
How would you describe your coaching style in three words?
Passionate. Demanding. Fair.
What are your ambitions for yourself and the team this season?
To help every player become the best version of themselves. If you put the work in every day, you'll reap the rewards.
What can players expect from you on the training pitch and on matchdays?
Players can expect a passionate coach who is always trying to bring the very best out of them and the team, while also being approachable and open to feedback.
How important is creating a positive environment on and off the pitch?
It's vital. When the club and the local community become one, it creates something really special. Having that support behind the team makes a huge difference.
